Account & subscriptions
Handle registration, subscription access, device migration, and subscription security. Once the account status is confirmed, continue troubleshooting in the client.
Do I need an email address to register for VPNUW?
No email address is required; you can register with a username and password. After registering, keep both credentials secure and avoid staying signed in on shared devices. From the user panel, you can view plans, orders, subscription access, and client downloads. These details are linked to your current account, so use the same credentials when switching browsers.
Where can I get my subscription link, and how do I update it?
Sign in to the user panel and get the current account subscription details from the overview or client section, then return to the client to update the subscription. Before updating, make sure you copied the complete content without missing anything at the beginning or end. If the client still shows old routes, delete the old configuration and import it again. Treat the subscription link like an account key: do not share it publicly, upload screenshots, or paste it into untrusted websites.
Do I need to buy another plan after changing computers or operating systems?
You do not need to buy another plan because you changed devices. VPNUW supports Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux, with no device limit. Sign in to the user panel with your existing account, get the client and subscription on the new device, and import them. When you stop using the old device, delete its local subscription configuration and sign out to keep subscription details off that device.
What should I do if my subscription suddenly stops working or may have been exposed?
First, sign in to the user panel to confirm that the plan status and subscription access are working, then get the subscription again from the panel and update the client. If the subscription was publicly shared, pasted on a public page, or stored on a device you cannot control, stop sharing it and explain the situation in a ticket. Include the platform, client behavior, and troubleshooting steps already taken so the account or configuration issue can be identified more easily.
Connections & troubleshooting
Troubleshoot layer by layer—from the local network and client status to system permissions and split-tunneling rules—rather than changing several settings at once.
What should I check first when the client cannot connect?
First, confirm that your local network can open commonly used websites. Then update the subscription in the client and switch to another route. Check that the client connection toggle is enabled and that the system proxy or network extension has the required system permission. If you still cannot connect, fully quit and reopen the client. In your ticket, include the platform, selected route type, error message, and what you did before the problem appeared.
Why does only one app fail to use the proxy?
A common cause is that the current split-tunneling rules classify the app's requests as direct, or that the app uses a different network method from the browser. First switch the client to a broader proxy mode for comparison. If access works then, the issue is usually rule matching. Update the subscription and rules, check whether the app or target domain has a direct-connection exception, and restart the app.
It says connected, but webpages still will not open. What should I do?
Open other international websites first to determine whether the issue affects one site or the entire connection. If multiple sites fail, switch routes and reconnect. If only the target site is affected, clear its cache or retry in a private browser window. Also check whether a browser extension is rewriting proxy settings, which can conflict with the system proxy.
What should I do if no routes appear after importing the subscription?
First confirm that the client supports subscription imports and that the pasted content is complete. If it is still empty after updating, delete the configuration and get the subscription again from the user panel. Do not keep using content from chat history or old screenshots. Some clients place new configurations in a different configuration group, so you may need to select the newly imported group manually. If the client reports a format error, include the exact message in your ticket.
Speed & routes
Route performance depends on the target region, local network, and international path. Compare routes within the same region and nearby regions to locate the issue.
How should I switch routes when performance slows during peak hours?
Pause any large file transfers, then switch to another route in the same region. Reconnect and check whether webpage loading, video playback, or AI tool responses improve. If the same region remains affected, choose another region closer to the target service. IEPL dedicated routes, transit routes, and direct connections have different path characteristics; switching based on actual performance is more effective than repeatedly restarting the same route.
How should I choose a region for everyday access?
Prioritize a route near the target service while maintaining a stable connection on your local network. For content in Japan, start by testing a Japan route; for services in Singapore or Hong Kong, start with the corresponding region. Do not judge by geographic distance alone, since the carrier's international path also affects results. VPNUW covers 120+ countries / 150+ routes, so compare nearby regions when performance fluctuates.
Streaming opens the homepage but will not play content. What should I check?
Opening the homepage does not mean playback verification has passed. Disconnect the current route, clear the target service's site cache, then connect to a route matching the content region and reopen the app. Also confirm that the account content region matches the selected exit region. If playback stops midway, switch routes within the same region. After switching, fully close the original playback page so the old session does not continue using the previous exit information.
How can I troubleshoot an unstable connection to AI tools?
First identify whether the issue occurs during sign-in, page loading, chat submission, or file upload, since each stage may use different requests. After updating the subscription, switch to another international route and temporarily disable browser extensions that modify requests or network settings. If the website works but the desktop app does not, check whether the app follows the system proxy. If it does not, adjust the client's split-tunneling rules and restart the app.
Billing & refunds
Review monthly subscriptions, data packages, upgrade adjustments, payment methods, and the refund request process. The amount and order status shown in the user panel are authoritative.
What monthly subscription data tiers are available, and when do they reset?
Monthly subscriptions include ¥9.9/month with 60GB, ¥18/month with 250GB, and ¥28/month with 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date rather than being cleared at the start of each calendar month. Choose based on your usual video use, file transfers, and number of devices. There is no device limit, but all connected devices share the data in the current account plan. Check the user panel for the current activation status and remaining data.
Do data packages reset every month?
Data packages remain valid until used and never expire. Options are ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. Unlike monthly subscriptions, which reset each month on the activation date, they suit users with irregular usage who prefer to pay for data as needed. Before choosing one, confirm how you use the account, then open the plan page from the user panel to avoid confusing the reset rules for monthly subscriptions and data packages.
How is the price difference handled when upgrading a monthly subscription mid-cycle?
When you upgrade a monthly subscription mid-cycle, the price difference is converted based on the remaining days. Before upgrading, check the current plan, remaining status, and target tier in the user panel, then follow the upgrade process shown there. Afterward, return to the overview to confirm the plan details and update the subscription in the client so the local configuration matches the account status. Do not create another account to process an upgrade, or the order and original subscription will be split across accounts.
Which payment methods are supported, and how do I request a refund?
Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT are supported. Before paying, check the plan name, data allowance, and amount in the user panel. After payment, return to the account overview to check the order status. VPNUW offers 60-day no-questions-asked refunds. To request one, open a ticket from the user panel, provide the relevant order and refund request, and keep the order details. Do not send account credentials or the complete subscription content on public pages.
