Quick start guide is for readers who have already chosen a plan and want the shortest path to their first connection. This page is a system guide you can return to whenever needed. It explains not only where to click, but also how subscriptions, routes, system proxies, and app traffic relate to one another, along with platform-specific checks and troubleshooting paths. If this is your first time, read from the beginning; if you are already connected, use the contents above to jump to maintenance or troubleshooting.

During setup, keep your username, password, and personal subscription link secure. VPNUW does not require an email address for registration; your username and password are enough to create an account. Client downloads, subscription details, plan status, and support tickets are managed in one place inside the user panel. The marketing pages do not provide static installers or display real subscription links. If you need to download a client again or copy your subscription, return to the panel.

Understand the service and connection path

What VPNUW provides

VPNUW is a cross-border network acceleration service with subscription routes covering 120+ countries and 150+ routes, supporting Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux. The user panel manages your account, plan, subscription, and client delivery. The client on your device reads the subscription, displays routes, establishes encrypted connections, and applies traffic rules. Both parts are essential: an account without a client will not connect your device automatically, while a client without a valid subscription cannot obtain a usable route list.

You can think of the full path as “account status — subscription data — local client — selected route — target service.” Account status determines whether the subscription is available. The subscription provides routes and required parameters to the client. The client then decides, according to its rules, which requests use international routes and which stay on a local direct connection. The Connect button is only the final execution step. When something goes wrong, checking each layer in this order is usually more effective than repeatedly reinstalling or toggling settings.

How monthly plans and data packs work

Monthly plans reset their data on the monthly anniversary of activation. They suit regular use when you want a fixed allowance for each cycle. Current monthly plans are ¥9.9/month with 60GB, ¥18/month with 250GB, and ¥28/month with 500GB. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is converted into remaining days, so the new plan is not simply added in full after the old one. Before upgrading, check your remaining data, active status, and expected usage in the panel.

Data packs remain available until used and never expire. Options include ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. They suit irregular usage, periods of concentrated demand, or anyone who wants to keep unused data available long term. Monthly plans and data packs solve different needs: the former focuses on ongoing use within a fixed cycle, while the latter keeps a balance available over time. Consider usage frequency, video quality, system updates, and cloud sync—not just the total data allowance.

Unlimited devices still require sensible management

VPNUW supports unlimited devices. You can configure the same account subscription on a work computer, personal computer, tablet, and other supported devices, while still keeping clear device-management habits. A subscription link is essentially a personal key to the routes. After copying it to a device, store it only in a trusted client. Do not paste it into public documents, screenshots, chat groups, or searchable notes. Before retiring, transferring, or reinstalling an old device, delete the subscription data from the client so the saved configuration cannot be read later.

When several devices are in use, differences often come from each device’s network, client rules, power-saving settings, and selected route—not from the account itself. The same route may perform differently on home broadband, an office network, and public Wi-Fi. Troubleshoot with fixed variables: first confirm that the subscription can update on one device, then test the connection. If it works, check the other devices one at a time instead of changing routes and rules everywhere at once.

Route type determines the path, not the use case

The route list may include IEPL dedicated lines, relay routes, and direct connections. IEPL dedicated lines generally emphasize a stable cross-border path. Relay routes pass through an intermediate node before reaching the target region, while direct connections link the local network straight to the remote exit. These labels describe transmission paths; they do not mean one route will always outperform another on every network, at every time, or in every app. Choose based on your network, target region, and actual app performance.

If you mainly access services in one region, start with a route near that target region. If logins, webpages, and basic requests work but video or large files are unstable, compare other route types in the same region. If every region fails at once, first recheck subscription status, client mode, and your local network rather than blaming a remote route. Choose a plan based on how you use it

Estimate where your data goes first

Before choosing a plan, do not start with the highest price or largest allowance. List the activities that will actually use international routes. Webpages and documents usually involve short requests, while HD streaming, cloud sync, system images, asset uploads, and large app updates can consume data continuously. Video calls use both upstream and downstream traffic. With global mode enabled, local content that could have connected directly may also use the subscription route. Different usage patterns can produce very different data totals on the same number of devices.

A safer approach is to separate regular needs from occasional ones. If you have daily cross-border work, study, or entertainment tasks, a monthly plan is easier to manage by cycle. If usage is infrequent or concentrated around travel, project delivery, or intensive viewing, a data pack makes it easier to keep unused data. You do not need to choose a plan that never changes; the key is to match the plan cycle to your real usage rhythm.

How to compare the three monthly plans

The difference between 60GB, 250GB, and 500GB is the amount available in each reset cycle—not a route-quality tier. Choosing the smallest allowance does not mean access to fewer regions, and choosing the largest does not guarantee higher speeds on every network. Route performance still depends on your local network, target region, route choice, and client configuration. Review the full prices and inclusions on the pricing page before deciding.

When to consider a data pack

Data packs include ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. They remain available until used and never expire. The key question is whether you need a new allowance every month. If your usage does not follow a stable cycle, monthly resets may not match your needs; a data pack keeps the balance available over time. Conversely, if you have continuous daily tasks, compare the monthly plan’s cycle management before choosing solely because a data pack does not reset.

Before ordering, also check automatic tasks on your devices. Cloud photo libraries, cloud drives, development dependencies, system updates, and media caches may run in the background. This is not necessarily abnormal consumption; global proxy or rule settings may simply be sending those requests through the route. For more precise data management, use rule mode so local sites and services that do not need acceleration stay direct, and review usage in the client regularly.

How to understand upgrades and refunds

When you upgrade a monthly plan mid-cycle, the price difference is converted into remaining days. Before upgrading, confirm the current plan and remaining cycle, then review the result in the panel rather than assuming the allowances are simply added together. An upgrade makes sense when the current cycle is clearly insufficient. If a single download caused a short-term spike, first adjust traffic rules and background sync, then see whether the higher usage continues.

This policy reduces uncertainty when choosing for the first time, but connection problems should still go through basic checks first: confirm the subscription is active, the client updated successfully, the system time is correct, the route has changed, and the local network is not restricting the connection. Never include your complete subscription link in the ticket; provide the plan status, device platform, symptoms, and checks already completed.

Bring the decision together with one table

Create an account and place an order

Create an account you can keep securely

Enter the user panel through the “Start Free” link on the page, then choose the account-creation option. VPNUW does not require an email address; you can register with a username and password. Choose a username you can recognize without making it identical to a public social profile. Use the password only for this service and store it in a trusted password manager. Because account creation does not depend on an email address, forgetting your username or password makes self-recovery harder. Save your account details in a secure record immediately after registration.

When entering credentials, distinguish full-width and half-width characters, leading or trailing spaces, and letter case. If login fails after pasting a password, check manually for extra spaces in the field, then confirm you are accessing the site-root user panel rather than a language-directory marketing page. Browser autofill may insert credentials from another site, so verify the username before submitting. Never place account credentials and a subscription link in the same public screenshot.

Check your login status before opening the plans page

After a successful login, the panel shows entry points for your account overview, client access, plans, orders, and support tickets. Confirm that the page recognizes the current account before opening the plans area. If refreshing returns you to the login page, check whether you are using a private window, have cleared site storage, or have blocked the browser from saving the local session. Do not create multiple accounts to work around a login issue; orders, subscriptions, and device configurations will become scattered across accounts.

If you manage your account on several devices, choose one trusted device as the primary management device for reviewing orders, copying subscriptions, and submitting tickets. Import the subscription on other devices only. This is not a device limit; it reduces how often account credentials are entered. VPNUW supports unlimited devices, but a clearly defined management setup makes it easier to trace order ownership and subscription sources.

Check the plan, cycle, and payment method

Before ordering, confirm once again whether you are choosing a monthly plan or a data pack. Monthly plans are ¥9.9/month with 60GB, ¥18/month with 250GB, and ¥28/month with 500GB, with data resetting monthly on the activation date. Data packs are ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB, available until used and never expiring. Do not rely only on the price button; read the plan name and data type in the order summary to avoid confusing a data pack with a monthly plan.

VPNUW supports Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT. After choosing a payment method, follow the process shown on the order page. Do not open multiple order pages or repeatedly submit the same order while payment is still pending. If the page takes a long time to respond, return to the order list to check its status before deciding what to do next. The order status is the basis for confirming whether the panel has recognized the payment.

How to confirm delivery after payment

After payment, return to the user panel and check the account overview and order history. The active plan should show its status in the account area; only then do the subscription and client-download entries become useful. If the order is complete but the plan status has not updated, refresh the panel and sign in again to ensure the browser is not showing an old cached page. If it still has not synced, use the panel’s ticket entry and provide the order status and account username. Do not submit a payment password, wallet key, or complete subscription link.

Once the plan is active, do not import it into several clients at once. Choose one device and complete the full loop: get the client, copy the subscription, import it, update it, connect, and verify. After the first device works, apply the same method to other platforms. This confirms that the account and subscription are functioning and narrows later troubleshooting to the specific device, client permissions, or network settings.

Account security and sharing boundaries

Your username and password are used to access the account; the subscription link lets the client read the routes. Their functions differ, but both are sensitive information. Do not post the subscription link in public support areas or let strangers operate a signed-in panel remotely. When describing an issue to support, provide the client platform, route type, symptoms, and the stage at which they appeared. You do not need to provide the complete link. If subscription details were exposed, check the available reset or update options in the panel and import the current subscription again.

CHAPTER / SUBSCRIPTION

Get and manage your subscription

What the subscription link does

A subscription link is not an ordinary website bookmark. After reading it, the client obtains the routes available to the current account, connection parameters, and information needed for future updates. When routes change, updating the subscription normally syncs those changes to the client instead of requiring manual editing of every node. Successful import is only the beginning; keeping the subscription up to date is more important for long-term use.

The subscription link is tied to your account and should only be placed in a trusted client you control. Do not paste the complete link into a search engine, online conversion site, public code repository, or shared document. When showing a subscription format in a tutorial, use an obviously fake value. For example:

The address above only demonstrates the format and cannot connect to VPNUW. Get the real subscription by signing in to the user panel. Marketing pages, blog posts, and public tutorials never provide a real, directly usable subscription link.

Get the subscription and client from the panel

After signing in, open the client or subscription section and choose the platform for your current device. The client-download entry in the panel delivers the site’s client and subscription information; without an active plan, it may ask you to choose a plan first. After activating a plan, return to the same section from that account. Do not download similarly named programs from unfamiliar pages, and do not mix subscriptions from other services into one ungrouped configuration with VPNUW.

When copying the subscription link, use the copy control provided by the panel to avoid missing characters during manual selection. Paste it directly into the client’s subscription-management page rather than passing it through a document editor that may reformat the text. If the client reports an invalid link format, copy it again. If it reports a request failure, check plan status, device connectivity, and system time before trying the update again.

Importing, updating, and switching are different actions

Importing a subscription adds its source to the client. Updating a subscription makes the client read the latest routes again. Switching a route selects an exit from the routes already available. Many first-time setup failures come from treating these as the same action. For example, after pasting the link, saving without updating may leave the client empty. After a successful update, failing to select a route may leave the Connect button on a default choice or without a usable exit. After switching routes, failing to reconnect may leave the old session using the previous path.

The standard process is: add and save the subscription, update it, confirm that the route list appears, choose a route suited to the target region, and then connect. During maintenance, update the subscription before deciding whether a route still exists. Do not manually copy large numbers of route parameters when an update fails; manual configuration can break future synchronization and cause devices to drift apart.

How to name and organize multiple configurations

If the client also contains work, test, or other subscriptions, give the VPNUW subscription a clear name and confirm that the correct configuration is active. The name is only for local identification and does not change the account plan. Distinguish subscription sources by service, then choose routes by region and purpose within route groups. Do not use the real subscription link as the configuration name, since names may appear in notifications, logs, or screenshots.

If an old subscription expires or is reset, delete its corresponding old configuration from the client and import the subscription currently shown in the panel. Keeping both old and new configurations may make the client update the new subscription while still using the old one, creating the impression that an update succeeded but the routes did not change. Before organizing configurations, disconnect, confirm the active configuration name, then delete and import again.

Judge update failures by the response type

If the client cannot reach the subscription address, first use a normal browser to sign in to the panel and confirm that the account and plan are valid. If the panel is also inaccessible, check the current network. If the panel works but the client update fails, check the client’s network permission, leftover system proxy settings, and certificate or time status. If the subscription updates but the route list is empty, confirm that you imported the complete link and check whether the client placed the new routes in another group.

Do not use repeated rapid refreshes to decide whether a subscription has recovered. After each action, read the client’s specific result: request failed, parsing failed, save failed, and empty route list indicate different stages. Note exactly where the error occurs, then visit the help center or open a ticket from the user panel. You may provide the complete error text, but first mask the token portion of the subscription link.

CHAPTER / CLIENTS

Import the client on five platforms

VPNUW supports Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux. The common workflow is the same on all five platforms: get the client and subscription for the current platform from the user panel, install or open the client, add the subscription, update the routes, choose an exit, and connect. The main differences involve permissions, background policies, system proxies, and how each client exits. The sections below are organized by platform; read only the part that matches your device.

Windows: from subscription import to system proxy

On Windows, sign in to the user panel, open the client-download section, and get the corresponding client and subscription. After installation, open the client, paste and save the link in subscription management, then update it. When routes appear, choose the target region and enable the connection or system proxy. If Windows displays a network or firewall permission prompt, confirm that the program came from the client delivered through the panel before allowing the required network access.

After connecting, watch the client’s tray icon and active configuration name. If browsers work but other programs do not, check whether those programs follow the system proxy or whether the client needs a mode that handles more traffic. Before quitting the client, disconnect first so the system proxy can be restored. If an abnormal exit leaves browsers unable to open any pages, open Windows proxy settings and check for a leftover local proxy pointing to the closed client.

Test manual connection and disconnection first, confirm that the network recovers after a restart, and only then enable everyday automation.

macOS: network permissions and menu-bar status

When a macOS client connects for the first time, the system may ask you to approve a network configuration. Confirm that the client came from the VPNUW user panel, then follow the system prompts to authorize it. To import the subscription, copy the complete link from the panel, paste it into the client’s subscription or configuration entry, and update it. After the update, confirm that the route group appears before selecting a region and connecting. The menu-bar icon is useful for quickly seeing whether the client is running, but open the client to confirm the active subscription and route.

If the connection remains after closing the window, the client may still be running in the menu bar. If ending the process directly causes network problems, reopen the client, disconnect normally, and then quit. If browsers work but terminal commands do not, check whether the terminal session inherited old proxy environment variables. You can view the current variables in Terminal:

The viewing command only checks the current state; it does not change your configuration. If old variables are present, return to the terminal configuration file or session that set them rather than deleting unfamiliar system entries blindly.

iOS: authorization and on-demand connections

On iOS, open the client-download entry through the user panel and obtain the client and subscription using the method provided there. Import the subscription into the client, update it, choose a route, and connect for the first time. The system will ask to add a network configuration, which is required system authorization for the connection. Approve it, return to the client, and check its status. Do not repeatedly add the same configuration from both Settings and the client.

If apps behave differently after switching between Wi-Fi and a mobile network, disconnect and reconnect so the client can establish a new session in the changed environment. If only one app fails, check the client’s traffic rules, the app account’s region, and the target service’s own status. iOS controls background activity, so a connection may need to be confirmed again after a long idle period. Do not rely only on the status-bar icon; opening the client to check the current route and subscription update time is more reliable.

Android: background restrictions and persistent connections

After importing and updating the subscription on Android, the first connection will trigger system authorization for a network connection. Confirm the client’s source and allow the request. If the connection frequently drops after the screen locks, check the system’s battery, background-running, and network-access restrictions for the client. Settings names differ by device, but the principle is the same: the client must remain active in the background while connected. If the system freezes its process, the route will drop with it.

Do not start multiple clients that establish system network connections at the same time. The system usually allows only the active configuration to handle traffic, and switching several clients on and off makes the status difficult to interpret. During troubleshooting, fully quit other related clients, keep the current VPNUW configuration, update the subscription, and reconnect. Linux: assess desktop proxy and terminal environment separately

A Linux client may have a desktop interface or may work with system proxy settings or a command-line environment. First get the client and subscription for the current platform from the panel, then import and update them. If desktop apps have connection issues, check whether desktop network settings point to the active client. If terminal programs fail, check whether the current shell has proxy environment variables. These layers can be independent, so a working browser does not prove that terminal configuration is correct.

These commands are used to inspect the proxy environment, name resolution, and routing status. After running them, check for old proxy variables, whether DNS comes from the current network, and whether the default route is as expected. For a temporary test, adjust the current terminal session first rather than modifying global system files without confirmation. Close the session when testing is complete to reduce the effect of leftover settings on later commands.

CHAPTER / VERIFY

Connect to a route and verify the result

Choose the target region first

After updating the subscription, choose a route based on the region where the target service is located. For Japanese content, start with a Japan route; for US services, test a US route first. If the target region is unclear, choose an exit near the region commonly used by the service. VPNUW covers 120+ countries and 150+ routes, including IEPL dedicated lines, relay routes, and direct connections within some regions. The goal is to match the route to your current network and target, not to stay on one route permanently.

If a route opens webpages but is unstable during sustained tasks, first switch route types within the same region. This keeps the exit region constant while you compare paths. Switching to another country may trigger a region change, a new login, or a different content catalog, mixing route quality with account-region issues. Choosing between rule mode and global mode

Rule mode uses client rules to decide whether requests take international routes or stay on a local direct connection, making it suitable for everyday use. It reduces unnecessary detours for local services and helps control plan data. Global mode sends more traffic through the current route and can help briefly test whether rules are preventing an app from being handled, but it is not suitable for long-term use when background tasks are unknown. System updates, cloud sync, and local video may consume subscription data as a result.

When troubleshooting a specific site, test it in rule mode first. If it fails, switch briefly to global mode and test again. If global mode works but rule mode does not, focus on rule matching, DNS, or the app’s proxy behavior rather than repeatedly changing accounts. After testing, restore the mode suited to everyday use and confirm that the client shows the change as active.

Verification means more than seeing “Connected”

A client showing Connected only proves that the local client completed the connection action; it does not mean the target app is using the route as expected. Verify in layers. First open a basic webpage to confirm name resolution and general access. Then open the target service and check that the page loads. Next confirm that the region recognized by the target service matches the selected route. Finally test video playback, conversations, uploads, or other real tasks. Layered verification shows exactly where a failure occurs.

If even basic webpages fail, check the local network, client status, system proxy, and DNS. If basic pages work but the target service fails, check the route region, app account region, cache, and the service’s own restrictions. If the web version works but a standalone app fails, check whether the app follows the system proxy or requires the client to handle more traffic. Do not attribute every failure to speed.

Use system commands to confirm local status

Command-line tools are useful for checking the device’s current network state, but a single command output should not be treated as the final answer. On Windows, start by viewing address and DNS information:

Check for leftover proxies, an existing default route, and working DNS resolution. Command output may contain local network information, so mask unrelated device names and addresses before submitting a ticket. Do not publish subscription tokens or execute unknown commands copied from the internet just to “fix” the issue.

Verification order for Streaming and AI Tools

Streaming services commonly consider the exit region, account region, cache, and playback session together. After choosing a route in the target region, close the old playback page, establish the new connection, and reopen the service. AI Tools care especially about session continuity, exit region, and login status. Open the target page after establishing the connection, and avoid switching regions repeatedly during a conversation. If the page opens but a request fails, stay on the same regional route, refresh the session, and check browser extensions, cache, and system time. If several AI services fail at once, check the current route and DNS. If only one service fails, include that service’s own status in your assessment.

Everyday maintenance, data, and renewals

Update the subscription regularly instead of reinstalling repeatedly

During long-term use, route lists and groups may change. If route names change or some routes become temporarily unavailable, update the subscription first and confirm that the client has received the current configuration. Reinstalling clears local settings but may not solve an outdated subscription, an inactive plan, or a local-network restriction. Reinstall only when program files are damaged, the app will not launch, or a fresh installation is clearly required.

Before updating, confirm that the account plan is active. After updating, watch for changes in the route list. If the client stores several subscriptions, check that the one being updated is also the one currently enabled. Configuration name, subscription source, and active route should correspond. Remove configurations that are confirmed no longer in use to reduce accidental selection.

Manage data through traffic rules and background tasks

Monthly plan data resets each month on the activation date, with allowances of 60GB, 250GB, and 500GB. Data packs provide 300GB, 1000GB, or 3000GB, available until used and never expiring. When checking usage, first identify whether you are using a monthly plan or a data pack, then interpret the balance shown in the panel. Do not assume a monthly plan resets at the start of the calendar month; it is based on the activation date.

When data rises quickly, check whether the client has been left in global mode, then review video quality, cloud drives, photo sync, app stores, and system updates. With multiple devices, check each one for background downloads, including idle devices. Unlimited devices means flexible configuration, not that every device should send all traffic through the route all the time. Sensible traffic rules keep local services direct and reduce unnecessary plan usage.

Re-establish the session after changing networks

When switching from home broadband to an office network, public Wi-Fi, or another network, the local address and route supporting the old connection have changed. Open the client and check its status, disconnecting and reconnecting if necessary. If the new network requires a web-based sign-in, complete that network’s authentication while disconnected first, then establish the VPNUW route. Reversing the order may prevent the authentication page from appearing correctly.

Public networks call for clear usage boundaries. Confirm that the network itself can open basic webpages before enabling the route for tasks that need protection or cross-border access. Handle renewals and upgrades separately

After changing networks, old resolution cache may remain; reconnecting or closing and reopening the target app is usually more effective than refreshing repeatedly. If the client offers a DNS option that follows its configuration, understand its effect before changing it.

Do not change system DNS, browser secure DNS, client DNS, and router DNS at the same time. Changing several layers together makes the result impossible to trace. A safer approach is to keep system defaults, confirm the client’s default configuration, and adjust only one layer when the symptoms clearly point to resolution. Revert changes in reverse order so leftover settings do not affect other networks.

Leftover proxies and abnormal exits

If a client ends unexpectedly while the system continues sending traffic to its old local proxy port, and no program is listening there, every webpage may become inaccessible. Restarting the original client and disconnecting normally is usually safer than manually changing many network parameters. If the client cannot start, open system proxy settings, check whether a manual proxy is still enabled, and restore the settings according to the current client’s instructions.

Terminal environment variables may also remain in a shell session. Even after the desktop proxy is closed, programs started from that terminal may still read HTTP_PROXY, HTTPS_PROXY, or similar variables. Distinguish route failures from local failures

On the same device, network, and mode, if only one route fails while other routes in the same region work, the issue is more likely specific to that route. If every region fails, check the account, subscription, local client, and network. If only one device fails while others work, the problem is more likely on that device. Unlimited devices make cross-checking possible, but keep variables controlled during testing.

For cross-checking, you do not need to try a large number of routes at random. First keep the target region fixed and choose another route in that region. Then keep the route fixed and test on another local network. Finally, verify it on another device already known to work. Each step should answer one question: is the issue the route, network, or device? Submit a ticket only after reaching a clear conclusion.
